2011 Theme Weekends

Please join us for our “Theme Weekends”. There will be lots of activities, contests, and music for each. Costumes optional for each theme , although, there will be “best dressed” costume contests for each. Our local D.J.’s, Walt & Vikki have over 30,000 Karaoke songs as well as 79,000 D.J. songs for dancing. They will be at the Pavillion on all most all Saturday nights from 7:00 – 10:30. Also Kids activities every Saturday!

May 27th -30th Memorial Day Weekend

Kick off Summer with our new entertainment… Our local D.J.'s, Walt & Vikki! Karaoke and Dancing both Sat and Sunday night…And kids activities both Sat and Sunday days for the kiddos…Come join the fun and start summer off right!

June 11th -12th "Pirate" Weekend

At, in-town Damariscotta, and Duck Puddle Campground there will be lots of plundering. Dress in pirate costumes, and be in town at Schooner landing by noon to see the real Pirate ship come down river with the pirates. Be careful though, because they came to "plunder and pillage". Lots more activities going on throughout the day. Check out this website for more info.
Back at the campground, take a cruise to Imagination Island on the Pontoon! Then join in the scavenger hunt. I'll bet some of those pirates forgot about the "treasure" hidden at the campground. Get an eye patch and practice your "ARRGGHH MATEY"! After a day of "Pirate Fun", come to the Pavillion (dressed in costume) for Karaoke, & Dancing. Pirate costume contest winner announced.

June 18th – "Las Vegas Night" Karaoke

When you arrive at Pavillion for Karaoke, and Dancing, if you want to participate, you will be given $10,000 of "Play Money". There will be gambling tables set up with "Black Jack", "Poker", and "High Low" games. The Pavillion will be decorated like "Las Vegas", The Las Vegas theme will continue with "Main Attractions" Karaoke. While you're trying to win as much money as you can, you will be entertained by the Karaoke singers. There will be an auction, with the "Play Money" that you won. Everyone who would like to participate, please bring an item for the auction. It can be anything that people will bid on. Quarters, for the children, gift certificates, something from the store, or just something from home, all would be appreciated. Nothing expensive, this is all about the fun. Come and join us for an "entertaining" evening.

June 25th – 80's night.

Karaoke & dancing. Find your best "80's outfit for the "best dressed from the 80's" contest.

July 1-4th –"Bad Penny" on the 4th

Games, Contests, Site Decorating Contest, , golf cart parade, hayride, Dancing & Karaoke on Saturday & Sunday night. Winners of "Most decorative Site" will be announced Sunday night. The dancing will continue on Monday, the 4th featuring the band "Bad Penny". There will be activities, and parade in town Damariscotta. Great, long weekend with "Tons of Fun".

July 9th – Hawaiian "Luau"

"Hula Skirt" around your waist, and put on a "Coconut Bra". Follow with colorful lei's around your neck, all while sipping some kind of "Tropical" beverage. Join our "Hawaiian pot luck" , bring your favorite Hawaiian dish…There will be authentic Hawaiian music, "Hula" lessons, and a "Limbo" contest. The "Hawaiian" theme would not be complete without someone singing "Elvis's Hawaiian Wedding Song", and Don Ho's " Tiny Bubbles". "ALOHA" EVERYONE!!

July 16th "Grease " Weekend

Come and join in the fun dressed from the 50's & 60's. Girls wore their hair in pony tails, rolled up their jeans, dressed in either Dad's white shirts, or poodle skirts. They also wore their boyfriend's ring around their neck, on a chain. It was called "going steady". Guys greased back their hair, rolled up their t-shirts, and said "cool man" a lot. Now, that you're dressed, and ready, it's time to go to the "Sock Hop" on Friday night. Have fun with the Hula Hoops, and learn how to do the "Jitterbug", the"Stroll", the"Pony",the"Fly", the Hand Jive, the"Mashed Potatoe", the"Bristol Stomp" and many more. The theme and the "Fun" continues on Saturday night with Karaoke Music from the 50's & 60's along with other personal choices. So, as the D.J. in "Grease" said: "WRAP YOUR MITTENS AROUND YOUR KITTENS, AND AWAY WE GO"!!!

July 23 rd – "Crazy Hat" day

This is a chance to be "very creative". Make the coolest, craziest hat you can. Try to find some unique items to put on it. "Anything Goes".

July 30th –"Halloweekend"

"Halloween in July". Get into your "Halloween" costume, decorate your site, trick or treat and get ready for the "ghouls"! Don't forget the "haunted hay ride"! At the Karaoke/Dance Saturday night, the winners of the "Best Costume", as well as the "Best Halloween Site" will be announced.

August 5th& 6th – "Lobsters, Steamers, & Corn…OH MY!!

Damariscotta Blues Festival " Weekend.

This is a great weekend to come to Damariscotta.

Saturday will be "Damariscotta Blues Festival". Music will start Saturday morning, and continue throughout the day, and evening will offer a "Pub Crawl" throughout all of the area's restaurants". This is an opportunity for all of you "Blues" lovers to take advantage of the exceptionally, talented "Blues" singers and musicians to ever come to the area, while in between shows you can relax on Duck Puddle Campground' s beach.

August 12th -14th " A Music Weekend"& "Wet n Wild"

Saturday night, for your listening and dancing pleasure, "The Generics". A group of extremely talented, and entertaining musicians and singers. Put your "Dancing Shoes" on and get ready to "Rock"!

All day "Be prepared"! When you least expect it, you will get "wet". You need to bring your own "soakers" so you will be ready for the "attack", and be ready to "attack" back. You will definitely need one for the "soggy" hayride! A really fun weekend for all ages!!

August 20-22 "Duck Puddle Idol"

Wanted: Karaoke singers, to participate in our "annual" Karaoke contest! There will be over 30,000 songs to choose from. Preliminary rounds will be Friday night and the "Idol" will be announced Saturday night. There will be a plaque for the "winners" name to be engraved on. This plaque will be on display in the store for all to see.

August 26 – 27 "Puddle-Palooza"

Come join us for our first ever Puddle-Palooza, hosted by DPC and Bad Penny…featuring 4-6 local bands. Call DPC for details, and we will update this site as we get closer and have more information. We will have camping/concert packages available. It’s sure to be a “Rocking” good time!

September 2-5 "Labor Day" Weekend! " Redneck Weekend"

Get out the "Cowboy" boots, & hats. Tie a bandana around your neck, and chew on a piece of straw. It's time for a "Country " Hoe down"!! You foot stomping, knee slapping, country line dancers get ready..for Friday night's Country Music dancing. Saturday night will be Karaoke with some old & new Country music singers. Can I hear a YEEHAWW!!!

Keeping with the "Theme", there will be a "Chili" cook-off as well as our "Annual Horseshoe Tournament".

October 8-10 " Pumpkin Fest"

"All You Leaf Peepers"! This is a great weekend to come to Damariscotta once again. This is the weekend for "Pumpkin Fest". This is a whole weekend of "Fall Festivities"!! There will be huge pumpkins displayed on Maine Street in town that will be carved. There will be food kiosk, pumpkin painting or carving for the kids, games for the kids, and music. There will also be pumpkin katapulting, and the weekend ends with pumpkin boat races. Duck Puddle campground will also have a "Pumpkin Decorating"contest.
